Birdwatching
Tracking down the Barranquero
Colombia, one of the countries with the greatest bird diversity in the world, boasts more than 1,966 species, at least 84 of which are endemic. Here, in the amazing ecosystem surrounding Hacienda Bambusa, as you wake up for breakfast and peer closely into the trees and various plantations, you'll be able to observe more than 160 different species.
During the first months of the year, approximately 40 species of migratory birds visit this region. Hummingbirds, tanagers, Andean motmots, and curlews are some of the birds you can encounter before sunrise.
During this walk, which takes place very early in the morning or late in the afternoon, a bird specialist guide will accompany you around the hacienda in search of birds. You'll also be accompanied on a botanical tour, where you'll discover a wide variety of fruits to discover and taste. Binoculars are available for use during the activity.
