La Maria Natural Reserve
The coffee region is unique in the world: the landscapes, the culture, the architectural style and the manual work of the coffee harvesting, make this place a region worth admiring. Each experience in this Colombian zone will show you the characteristics that make it unique.
To get to know the landscapes and the different crops that grow in this prosperous land, you can enjoy an entertaining walk inside the La María natural reserve, located just 20 minutes away from Bambusa. You will get to know the farms surrounding the hacienda, that grow different types of crops: corn, bananas, citrus, coffee or cocoa. You will cross a river and may come across an imposing herd of buffalos, horses or cows.
Are you biker? en hop on a mountain bike and head to La María starting at Hacienda Bambusa!
Don't forget to bring your camera and a hat, put on sunscreen and hiking shoes!
Suggested Itinerary
10:00 am - Meet your Bambusa expert guide at the hotel.
10:00 am to 10:15 am - Start the tour by passing the hotel’s own vegetable garden, where we grow aromatic herbs, salads, and exotic fruits, all of which are used in our restaurant.
10:15 am to 10:45 am - Hike through the property among the plantations of the Hacienda, including lemon and yuca, until you reach La Isabela farm.
10:45 am to 11:15 am - Upon arrival, meet the owners of La Isabela and explore their cacao plantation to learn about the cultivation process.
11:15 am to 12:00 pm - Return to the hotel, choosing to hike, bike, or take a car back.
